MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING
Preparing People For Change, 2nd Edition
William R. Miller and Stephen Rollnick
Guilford Publishing, 2002
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: Readers will learn, understand and be able to plan and carry out Motivational Interviewing (MI), an evidence-based approach to overcoming the ambivalence that keeps many people from making desired changes in their lives. Readers will be brought up-to-date on new knowledge on MI. The authors present detailed guidelines for using their approach and reflect on the process of learning MI. Chapters contributed by other leading experts will address such special topics as MI and the stages-of-change model, applications in medical, public health, and criminal justice settings, and using the approach with groups, couples, and adolescents.
