COGNITIVE THERAPY TECHNIQUES
A Practitioner's Guide
Robert L. Leahy
Guilford Publications, 2003
LEARNING OBJECTIVES: The reader will be able to use a wide variety of cognitive techniques to broaden their range.
This book is full of useful tools and interventions to expand the repertoire of novice and experienced cognitive therapists. Therapists will learn or rediscover effective ways to identify and challenge thoughts and core beliefs; modify patterns of worry, self-criticism, and approval-seeking; evaluate personal schemas; intervene in emotional processes; and activate new experiences for the client. Each technique is thoroughly described and illustrated with case examples. The book includes more than 80 reproducible client forms and handouts.
